My Learning Linux Project
Here at Learning Linux on WikiDot, I will provide information regarding some of my learning experiences and provide resources to further information as it comes across my desk. I hope this website can be a good resource for you as well!
My Current Project(s):
- I am currently focusing on moving from Windows to Linux; and
- I am also getting geared up to learn how to remaster a Linux distro.
A great local resource for me has been the members of BLUG our local user group. They host the annual LinuxFest Northwest, the best grassroots Linux fest around! I would encourage anyone to locate your local user group, get on their mailing list, and attend a few meetings.
Here are some additional general resources I have found very useful:
- LinuxQuestions is a very useful forum. In addition, I encourage you to find the distro-specific forum if your question is distro related. However, LinuxQuestions is THE place to start!
- Major Linux Desktops : Gnome, KDE, Fluxbox, and Xfce
- Linux commands reference in alphabetical order
- Linux commands by category of use
- more to come!
